This small business made use of an existing CMU box previously occupied by a laundry machine repair facility. The new program required space to showcase high-end audio/visual installations and components, create both private and open offices, and have direct access to a warehouse that would both store equipment and serve as product testing space. The CMU box was stripped to the shell, existing concrete floors were ground and polished, and an un-reinforced brick veneer was peeled off the street facade. Openings were punched into the walls and framed with steel. This provided the opportunity to vary the opening depth depending on solar orientation and use of space.
